Vamona  Ananta Sinai Navelkar (Ganesh)

Vamona Navelkar born and educated in Goa until he went to Lisbon on a prestigious scholarship to study at Escola De Belas Artes. He returned to his mother land 28 years later to encrich Goa with the wealth of his experience. He is an artist who draws with great fluidity and power and his noted for his mobility of line. His works are a translation of vision into art form with great intensity, depth and power.  Mr. Navelkar is not fixated

by any particular approach or technique and has a diverse range of styles. He has received prestigious Gulbenkian fellowship twice and in 1973 he won an award at the International Exhibiton of Art (in Monte Carlo) for his drawing "Angosh Woman". Mr. Narvelkar features in the Dictionary of 20th Century Portuguese artists and the Encycloepedia dos Artistas de Portugal.

1982-Promoted an Exhibition of water colours based on the poem Ramayana, by my nephew, Anant E. Sinai Navelcar (age 5 years) (this exhibition was sponsored by Fundacao C. Gulbenkian);
The same water colours were exhibited at Lisbon, sponsored by Fundacao C. Gulbenkian.

1986-Promoted an exhibition of child Art, from the children of Goa and Portugal, at I.M.B. It was sponsored by Fundacao C. Gulbenkian, Lisbon, Portugal.
